Professional model who is also a lawyer and dreams of becoming a judge – read the interview here.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Nehsha Moynihan yesterday which also happened to be her 25th birthday. I walked away from the interview thinking, what a beautiful person Nehsha is both inside and out. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous, but she is intelligent, hard working and very humble. Nehsha was born and raised in Rotorua and works as a lawyer in a local firm. She has a strong faith and lets God guide her in every thing she does.

Have you always wanted to be a model?
Growing up every body kept telling me how I should take up modelling and I always kept telling people ‘I’ll do it one day’.

How did you get into modelling?
I was volunteering for another fashion designer who I knew, doing the catwalk. Kharl WiRepa the designer was there and he also owns Gloss Quality Model agency and he gave me his card. He has been giving me opportunities to follow my dream, to start a career in modelling. I’ve had the opportunity to get a portfolio together with some nice photos.

How did you feel when you did your first ever catwalk?
I was nervous, but I think being nervous is a good thing because it means you are taking it seriously. But I was also excited, I was really, really excited. I actually do this little dance before I go down the catwalk and especially after the catwalk because it’s exciting, it’s fun.

This year your going to New Zealand Fashion Week, how are you feeling about that?
Massively excited. But I need to get myself ready. I go to the gym but I need to get a bit more toned and make sure I’m eating healthy foods to help with my skin. I’m also really looking forward to meeting a lot of different people at Fashion Week.

What are your goals as a model?
My dream is to be a Victoria Secret model. Their models are my favourite models, they are beautiful, they are perfect.

What is the most challenging thing about modelling?
I guess it is the other models. What I mean is, if you see another model and they look beautiful, you can’t let that effect your confidence. To be able to survive in the industry you need to really know yourself and be confident in yourself. You need to back yourself the whole way. It’s a competitive industry.

What advice do you have for other aspiring models?
Be confident in yourself, know who you are before you get into the industry.

Nehsha is a young lady with big dreams. On one hand her goal is to become a judge because she is passionate about justice. On the other hand she dreams of becoming a Victoria Secret model. Something tells me that no matter what Nehsha decides to do she will be a success because she sets goals and works tirelessly to achieve them. I can’t wait to see which path she chooses.
